Zena Halpern - Goddess Worship in Pre-Columbus North America

Zena Halpern: B.A. Long Island University,  M.A. New York University  + post graduate courses at NYU with Cyrus Gordon and MSW Adelphi Univ.

Inspired by  Professor Gordon’s unique legacy  in pre-Columbian studies and his  vision of long range cross cultural contacts by sea,  Ms. Halpern has developed expertise in pre-Columbian trans-Atlantic voyages with special emphasis on connections with Mediterranean cultures.

She has followed Gordon’s work, searching for evidence from underwater archaeology of ancient shipwrecks and harbors along the eastern Mediterranean.

Published articles on these topics appear  in several journals; Epigraphic Society Occasional Papers (ESOP)  Midwestern Epigraphic Society ( MES ) Migration and Diffusion,  Institute for the Study of American Culture (ISAC) and I have lectured at  the New  England Antiquities Society (NEARA)  AAPS,  MES, ISAC.

She is presently working on her book  with special  emphasis on discoveries from underwater archaeology of ancient shipwrecks, sunken harbors in the east Mediterranean and artifacts from pre-Columbian American sites.

At the Atlantic Conference, Zena will be discussing the Goddess Stone of Frost Valley and implications and connections to the Venus Alignments of the Newport Tower. Gloria Farley's work "In Plain Sight" will also be covered by Zena.
