Hosting Your Own Participation Group.

We're all inventing this as we go along, so there really aren't many rules to the game. If you're interested in difussionism, love history and are somewhat social by nature, you'll love hosting your own Participation Group. Below are some of the details. Many more will follow as the event draws near. By mid summer, all details will be complete so make sure you keep checking this website.

The technology is not difficult for the participants

Rick, Steve and Stuart have been actively testing the technology and working out the kinks since March of 2009. We want to make sure there are no kinks by October and we're getting quite confident that there won't be any.

The main thing is to make sure the event is good for others.

Internet connection speed is critical. You need a cable modem, DSL connection or Verizon Fios to successfully handle the video bendwidth of the broadcasts. We highly recommend you have a telephone with a speaker phone on it in case you want to call in during the broadcast or to chat with other PGs as a group. We'll explain more on this later.

Comfortable Seating
This will be a 2-day event, all day both days. There will be breaks, but folks will be
in your space for a long time. Make sure they're comfortable.

Fast Internet Connection
Cable modem, DSL connection or Verizon Fios are a must

Must be able to open two internet browser windows at one time on one screen
Many of the presenters will want you to follow along with a powerpoint
slide presentation during their presentation using a second browser
    window. This is incredibly easy.

Basic facilities, food, coffee, lots of water
Think of a Participation Group as a small party and plan accordingly.  You're hosting.

Stay on Schedule with the lead up events
These may seem purely social but Rick and I will be following back with you
to make sure any technology kinks are ironed out well in advance. Connection
details must be worked out, audio levels must be tested and basic participant needs
   must be planned for.

Contact Steve or Rick if you have questions

It will be quite easy to host a PG meeting and we don't expect folks to be too demanding of your hospitality. We're all in this together and it really should be quite fun.
